Cock E.S.P., 2004-2005

Although the group has dabbled in various musical styles and techniques over the years, the most recent has involved the showcasing and amplifying of mistakes and equipment failures. E.S.P. began to feel that such unintended sounds actually had a greater capacity for chaos and intensity than those sounds they actually wished to create. Thus, recent studio recordings were edited to isolate and emphasize these sounds, creating an intricate web of pure noise.

nonnon - He soon realized that being behind the console isn't where he wanted to be so, on a whim, he switched to composition and started writing all the weird academic music that chases everyone out of Humanities 101 -- focusing on computer assisted composition and, specifically, improvisation.

Aube - Low Spin Drift

He was interested in sound work since the 80s, but had not released anything until he was asked to create music for an art installation in the early 90s. Since then, he has created an enormous amount of work - most of which is based on one sound source. Anything is used - from glass to oscillators and even pages from the Bible. His early work is noisier, while his new direction leans toward ambient.
Pan sonic - Urania

Originally, the band was called Panasonic, but the corporation of the same name discovered this and threatened with legal action unless it was changed. The conflict was resolved, and the duo removed the "a" from their name altogether to become "Pan Sonic". The missing "a" lives on as the title of their 1999 album.

Lightning Bolt - Ride The Sky @ Webster Hall 07/02/06

Lightning Bolt are known for their guerrilla-style live performances, where they typically play on the ground rather than a stage, with the crowd gathered around them. The band's sound is typically loud and aggressive, though the group cites composers Philip Glass and Sun Ra as compositional influences.

Anton Webern

Austrian composer and conductor. He was a member of the Second Viennese School. As a student and significant follower of Arnold Schoenberg, he became one of the best-known proponents of the twelve-tone technique; in addition, his innovations regarding schematic organization of pitch, rhythm and dynamics were formative in the musical technique later known as total serialism.

The Haters- 05-18-91 Klub Komotion

During the 1990’s The Haters developed many different recurring techniques using amplified gear. The only reason The Haters started incorporating live sound in performances was to re-emphasis the action taking place. Not for the sake of the sound itself. There’s no linear progression here. Themes and techniques would overlap back and forth, but overall, the performances were getting louder. By 1995 The Haters had ceased using pre-recorded soundtracks all together. They would now use any one of several theatrical devices to function as stage curtains.
Die Like a Dog Quartet - Jazz Festival Berlin 1995

here on youtube
The musicians in Die Like A Dog are an unanchored tribe representing the great unsponsored. They answer only to themselves. It is the great privilege of the unsponsored to be free to push on towards the frontier unhindered, stretching the boundaries, energised by dislocation, travelling wherever work, inspiration and the cooperative challenge takes them. Always ready to move on, to shoot an arrow at the horizon.
dead c "sky"

The group performs very infrequently outside of New Zealand, although they did travel to the USA in March 2002 to perform at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival (curated by Sonic Youth), as well as a couple of gigs in Los Angeles and San Francisco. They also performed for the first time in Europe in May 2004 at Le Weekend, a new music festival in Stirling, Scotland and returned to the UK to play at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival again in December 2006. They are playing some shows in the United States in October 2008.
